FOREST FIRE SMOKE IN THE INTERIOR:  During the summer months, the Fairbanks North Star Borough may experience highly variable levels of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) due to forest fire smoke from nearby forest fires.  Levels will vary from area to area, depending on the wind direction and intensity of the fire. ​
